#SkinnyTok Is Trending. We're Not Buying It.

Scroll through TikTok long enough and you'll find it, a corner of the internet known as "SkinnyTok," where content glorifies extreme thinness and rapid weight loss above all else. It's diet culture with a new algorithm, and it's reaching millions.

GLP-1s are being celebrated less for metabolic health and more for how fast they shrink a body.

Celebrities are dropping excessive weight and being praised for it. The message is simple: small is the goal, and the scale is the scorecard. We've seen this before with 90s fad diet culture, and we aren’t going to pretend it’s not happening again.

Here's where we stand: skinny is not the enemy. There are healthy ways to maintain a slim physique, and for some people, medically supervised tools like GLP-1s can be a genuinely beneficial part of that journey. What we take issue with is the culture around it- the glorification of dropping weight as fast as possible, often at the expense of the nutrients your body actually needs to function.
