Welcome to the first feature in our Reppin' My Way(/Whey;)) series! Here we'll highlight members of the EFM community, the fun facts that make them unique and how EFM has made a difference in their lives. Let's hear it for Mekel!:
Intro - Name, age (if you want), sport, background, favorite hobby outside training.
Mekel, 30, powerlifting, army veteran turned ER/trauma nurse, mom of two crazy boys, one who has down syndrome, so advocacy and awareness is SO important to me. I’m married to a soldier who has been my best friend and husband for 11 years. Our favorite hobby is family lego building. We have hundreds of sets and even more random lego to design and build together.

What's your walkout song and why?
She’s a BRICK HOUSE, because that’s my nickname. My whole life I tried to make myself smaller (physically, mentally, emotionally) to please everyone else. It wasn’t until I became and adult that I decided only mine and my loved ones opinions of me matter. Now I embrace my big personality, big opinions, and bigger/stronger body.
(Also ask to see my belt, it says BRICKHOUSE in lego font and the interior is lego print, get it? Bricks? Legos?)
If you had to pick 3 people for your team on the zombie apolcalypse, who would you pick and why?
My husband-he can come up with something at the drop of a hat and can make and do anything he decides he wants to do. I swear that man knows everything.
Bear Grylls- I mean duh. He’s a survival expert. He knows the ins and out of how to live with nothing at all.
Thor- I mean speaks for himself, right? Survived a thousand world ending events, is a literal God, and can fly. Like we’d obviously survive.
What's the best piece of fitness advice you've ever been given?
“Your smallest body is never going to weigh the same and your strongest body. Your strongest self cannot be born from a mind set on minimizing. Eventually, you will have to choose between shrinking or building yourself as a woman.” -Katie Wilcox
If you could live in one fictional universe, which would it be and who would you be?
The marvel universe, hands down. I would either be the mighty thor OR black widow. I like the strength and the ability to fly for sure. BUT I love the strength and abilities that black widow without any superpowers.
What's your absolute favorite/least favorite workout?
Deadlifts are my jam, especially sumo deadlift. I love glute and back workouts. I HATE squats like loathe them.
How long have you been using EFM products?
Over a year now
What's your favorite EFM product?
Tell us your favorite supplement science.
Fish oil is my favorite supplement. So many benefits. Those omega 3s are important to development of the brain, helps with eyesight, fights inflammation, prevents heart disease, treats depression and ADHD, improves bone health, lowers your cholesterol, increases brain function, supports your joints and more. I love a lot of different supplements, but the power of this one speaks for itself and is one that is especially hard to get in your diet unless you eat A LOT of fish.
What do you want written on your tombstone?
Gave more than she took.
Made the world a better place.
Loving wife, mom, sister, and daughter.
